I came upon these posts yesterday and wanted to share the love. The first is an excellent article about the edge writers get by learning editing techniques to improve their own writing–“Improve Your Writing: Become a Demanding Self-editor.” Bonus: The author offers some good self-editing tips to get you started.
The other post, from Michael Hyatt’s website, is closely related. He discusses the importance of detailed thinking: How Little Things Can Lead to Big Results. And, of course, detailed thinker are bound to see the little things that help to improve a manuscript, thus the connection to self-editing.
Give these two articles a quick read, and you’ll glean some excellent tips for becoming a better self-editor.
